Neck problems

Neck pain is a common condition with 2 out of 3 people estimated to suffer from it at some stage in their lives. Most neck pain is mechanical in origin and is the result of every day stresses and strains placed on the muscles, joints and ligaments in the neck. It can also be caused by more traumatic events such as falls or whiplash injuries. Occasionally spinal nerves can become compressed causing nerve root pain or “pins and needles” being felt in the arm or hand.

Headaches are a complex but common problem for many people. There are many different types of headaches and they can effect patients to differing degrees. Some of the better known types of headache include migraines, tension headaches and cluster headaches. There are also headaches that can originate from the neck and refer pain into the head. Through careful examination and treatment of the head and neck many patients find that their headache symptoms can be relieved or even permanently resolved.
